Cookie Policy

This policy explains what we store on your device when you visit metronomelab.click, why we store it, and how you stay in control. It covers cookies and other browser storage, such as local storage.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to keep on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way from a privacy point of view: they hold data in your browser between visits. This policy covers both.

2. Nothing is measured until you agree

When you open the site we load Google Tag Manager together with Google Consent Mode, configured to deny every storage category by default.

Until you accept, no analytics cookies are placed on your device. Google receives only a signal that a page was opened, with no cookie, no identifier and no advertising personalisation. We cannot recognise you, connect your visits to each other, or build a profile from it.

If you accept analytics cookies, the cookies listed in section 4 are set. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, nothing is stored and no identifier is created.

3. Strictly necessary storage

We remember your cookie choice so that we do not have to ask again on every page.

  • cookie_consent — kept in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie. It records which categories you accepted and when. It stays until you clear your browser storage. This needs no consent, because it exists only to honour the choice you made.

4. Analytics cookies, only with your consent

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-MLK246L77P), loaded through Google Tag Manager (container GTM-NP9H839Q), to understand how the site is used: which pages people open, roughly where they come from, and what devices they use.

With your consent the following cookies are set:

  • _ga — 2 years — gives your browser a random identifier, so that repeat visits count as one visitor instead of several.
  • _ga_MLK246L77P — 2 years — holds the state of your current session: when it began and how many pages you opened.

These data are pseudonymous, not anonymous. The identifier holds no name or email address, but it is a stable identifier for your browser, and under the GDPR that counts as personal data. We make no attempt to link it to you as a person, and we upload no customer data to Google Analytics.

Google uses your IP address to work out an approximate location, usually at country or city level, and then discards it. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.

The legal basis is your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw it at any time, as described in section 7.

5. What we do not use

We use no advertising, marketing, retargeting or social media cookies. We do not sell your data, we share it with no data brokers, and no third party may use what is collected here for its own advertising.

Should this ever change, we will add the new category to the cookie banner and ask you before anything is stored.

6. Who receives the data

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), which acts as our data processor. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and Google additionally applies the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Changing or withdrawing your consent

You may change your mind at any time, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

  • Use the "Manage Cookie Settings" button on this page.
  • Clearing your browser storage also erases your saved choice, and the banner appears again on your next visit.

Withdrawing consent stops any further analytics cookies from being set. It does not undo processing that already took place lawfully.

8. How long the data is kept

Data collected in Google Analytics is deleted automatically after 14 months. Aggregated reports, such as monthly visitor counts, may be kept for longer, because they no longer identify anyone.

9. Controls in your browser

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and can warn you before a cookie is stored. Google also offers a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

If you block strictly necessary storage, we cannot remember your choice, so the cookie banner will reappear on every visit.

10. Changes to this policy

We update this policy whenever the technologies we use change. The date of the last revision is shown at the top of the page.
